Meet Abdon the judge.
A briefly described judge.
Who was Abdon the judge?
Abdon was a judge in Israel after Elon. Judges names his father Hillel, his home at Pirathon and a large family. Only a few verses describe him, so we do not know a detailed story of his life.
The passage says Abdon judged Israel for eight years. A brief record can tell us a person's place in a larger history without telling us what every day was like.
