Barnabas: welcoming a fellow traveler at a sunlit village doorway

Who was Barnabas?

Barnabas was an early Christian whose given name was Joseph. The apostles called him Barnabas, meaning son of encouragement. He shared resources and worked with Paul and other believers.

When people were afraid of Saul, Barnabas brought him to the apostles and explained what had happened. He helped them hear about Saul's changed life.
