Meet Mephibosheth.

Receiving welcome at the king's table.

Mephibosheth: seated with dignity at a welcoming royal table, walking aid nearby

Who was Mephibosheth?

Mephibosheth was Jonathan's son and Saul's grandson. He had a disability affecting his feet. David welcomed him and restored family land because of his relationship with Jonathan.

David gave Mephibosheth a place at his table. The scene can help us discuss belonging and dignity without reducing a disabled person to an object of pity.
