Who was Miriam?
Miriam was a prophet and a leader among the people leaving Egypt. She was the sister of Aaron and Moses. Her story includes music, celebration and a later conflict that needed to be addressed.
After the escape through the sea, Miriam led women with tambourines and dancing. Their song remembered the rescue they had experienced.
