Responding to God with wonder and respect.

Reverence can be quiet, but it can also include thankful singing.

Put it into practice

What does reverence look like?

Reverence means responding to God with wonder and respect. We can pause, listen, pray and notice the goodness of what God has made. Reverence can be quiet, but it can also include thankful singing.

Before a prayer, pause for a moment and remember whom you are speaking to. You can bring real questions as well as thanks.

Verses to remember

Oh come, let’s worship and bow down. Let’s kneel before Yahweh, our Maker,
Psalm 95:6 ↗ · World English Bible Classic

A little context

Psalm 95:6 invites people to bow in worship before their Maker. The psalm also calls them to listen; reverence includes attention to God, not only an outward posture.
