Bible verses for children

Hope for someone to stand up for me.

Job 19:25

Job: a quiet historically appropriate setting for Questions and faith amid suffering, with simple understated contextual details; no invented dramatic event
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

A redeemer is someone who acts to rescue or defend another person. Job longs for someone who will stand up for him when he feels misunderstood. He speaks of a living Redeemer while his troubles are still unresolved. Hope can be spoken even before we know how a story will end.

If people misunderstand what happened, ask a trusted adult to listen carefully and help explain. Wanting someone to hear your side is different from pretending nothing hurts.

Bible context & readings +

Job 19 is a speech of pain, isolation and hope. The identity and role of the Redeemer are debated, and the surrounding poem is difficult to translate. Christians often hear a connection with Jesus and resurrection; that later reading should not erase Job’s own plea for vindication.
