Love willing to give deeply.

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Jesus describes the greatness of self-giving love and points towards his own death. Everyday friendship can reflect costly care. Children are not asked to prove love by risking their lives.

Give time or patient attention to a friend when doing so is inconvenient but safe.

Talk about it

What can generous friendship cost besides money?

Bible context & readings +

John 15:12–17 joins this saying with loving one another and Jesus calling disciples friends. His coming self-giving is central to the passage, not a demand to accept dangerous tests of friendship.
