Bible verses for children

Make a good difference.

Matthew 5:13

A small clay lamp on a high shelf lights a simple home where a child helps a neighbor; a small bowl of salt sits on the table
“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Salt has a useful effect on what it touches. Jesus uses it to describe disciples whose lives matter in the world. The image asks them to remain faithful to that purpose.

Bring fairness and encouragement into a game instead of copying an unkind atmosphere.

Bible context & readings +

After the Beatitudes, Jesus calls his disciples salt and light. These images concern visible, faithful living. The warning about useless salt should not become a label declaring any child worthless.
