Bible verses for children

Let your actions match your words.

Proverbs 10:9

A child returning a found pouch to a responsible adult in a village market, no audience applauding
He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.

Proverbs 10:9 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Walking blamelessly pictures living honestly and consistently. A person who twists the truth has to keep hiding the twists. Integrity offers a steadier way to live, though being truthful does not mean we will never face unfairness.

If you promise to return something, do so even when nobody reminds you. If you cannot keep a promise, explain honestly instead of inventing a story.

Talk about it

What small promise could you take care to keep?

Bible context & readings +

Proverbs 10 brings together short contrasts about wise and harmful conduct. Verse 9 contrasts honest walking with crooked ways. It describes the security of integrity as practical wisdom, not a guarantee that every wrong will be discovered immediately.
