Bible verses for children

Bring your plans to God.

Proverbs 16:3

A child sitting quietly by a bedroom window at early morning, hands relaxed together, speaking to God in prayer with a thoughtful trusting expression
Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Committing our work to God means entrusting it to him and being willing to seek his direction. It is more than asking God to approve whatever we already want. Plans can change as we learn what is wise and right.

Before starting something important, pray about it and ask for good advice. Be ready to adjust a plan if it is unfair, unsafe or unrealistic.

Talk about it

Bible context & readings +

Proverbs 16 places human plans alongside God’s purposes and judgement of motives. Verse 3 should be read within that setting. It is not a guarantee that every project succeeds simply because someone has prayed before beginning it.
