Bible verses for children

Friends can help each other grow.

Proverbs 27:17

A child asks an older mentor for guidance with an open book between them, both listen thoughtfully at a simple shaded table
Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance.

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Sharpening iron makes a tool more useful. The proverb compares that with people improving one another through thoughtful interaction. A good friend can ask a helpful question or offer honest feedback. Cruel teasing is not necessary for growth.

Ask a friend to look at your idea and suggest one improvement. Receive their thought kindly, then offer the same care when they ask you.

Talk about it

What kind of feedback helps you grow without feeling put down?
