Bible verses for children

The path that leads to life.

Psalm 16:11

A child and a trusted adult choose a clear narrow sunlit path through a safe garden, with a broader winding path visible elsewhere
You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

Psalm 16:11 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

A path helps us picture the direction of a life. The singer trusts God to show a life-giving way and finds joy in being close to him. “Right hand” pictures an honoured, secure place beside someone. The verse is about relationship, not a map to a hidden treasure.

A wise choice may bring a deeper joy than getting your own way. Including someone in a game can make the afternoon better for both of you.

Bible context & readings +

Psalm 16 is a prayer of trust that speaks of God as the singer’s refuge and portion. Its final verses express confidence in life with God. Joy here does not require a person to feel cheerful every moment or hide sadness.
