Bible verses for children

A world entrusted to our care.

Psalm 24:1

A beautiful panorama of creation: sunlit mountains, ocean, river, lush trees, flowers, birds in the sky, deer and small animals on the shore, fish visible in clear water
The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell in it.

Psalm 24:1 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

The earth and all who live in it belong to God. People may care for a garden, a home or a piece of land, but they are not the ultimate owners of creation. This verse invites respect for the world and for other people who share it.

A park is not only yours to enjoy. Leaving it clean helps the next visitors and the creatures living there. Care can begin with a place you use every day.

Talk about it

How does sharing a world change the way we treat it?

Bible context & readings +

Psalm 24 begins with God as the world’s Maker, then asks who may approach his holy place. Clean hands and a pure heart connect worship with honest living. The opening is about belonging and responsibility, not permission to take what belongs to a neighbour.
