Bible verses for children

Waiting can take courage.

Psalm 27:14

A child patiently watering a small planted seed in a clay pot beside a sunny window
Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.

Psalm 27:14 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Waiting for God is an active kind of hope. The singer urges the heart to take courage while help is still needed. Patience does not mean doing nothing or staying in danger. We can keep praying and take wise steps while an answer or a change takes time.

Waiting for news can feel difficult. Stay near someone who cares for you, keep doing ordinary helpful things and say how you feel instead of carrying the worry alone.

Talk about it

What can you do wisely while you wait for something you cannot hurry?

Bible context & readings +

The closing words of Psalm 27 follow requests for God’s presence, guidance and protection. The singer’s hope is not based on having every problem already solved. Courage and patient trust belong together in this unfinished situation.
