Bible verses for children

My life is in your hands.

Psalm 31:15

A child sitting quietly by a bedroom window at early morning, hands relaxed together, speaking to God in prayer with a thoughtful trusting expression
My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.

Psalm 31:15 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

“My times” means the changing experiences of the singer’s life. Placing them in God’s hand pictures trust in his care. The very next words ask for rescue from enemies. Trust and asking for protection belong together; the singer is not simply accepting harmful treatment.

If something in your life feels uncertain, tell a safe adult what worries you. You can pray about what you cannot control while making a plan for the things you can do.

Bible context & readings +

Psalm 31 moves through distress, trust and thanksgiving. In verse 15 the singer is threatened by people who pursue him. His prayer entrusts his life to God while clearly asking that the danger end, rather than treating it as something he must silently endure.
