Bible verses for children

Bring the morning to God.

Psalm 5:3

A child sitting quietly by a bedroom window at early morning, hands relaxed together, speaking to God in prayer with a thoughtful trusting expression
Yahweh, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.

Psalm 5:3 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

The singer brings requests to God in the morning and waits expectantly. Prayer includes speaking and leaving room for an answer we cannot control. Beginning the day with prayer can help us name what matters before we become busy. God can hear us at other times too.

Before school, you could name something you are thankful for and something you need help with. Then take the practical steps that belong to your day, such as packing your bag or asking a teacher.

Talk about it

What would you like to bring to God at the start of today?

Bible context & readings +

Psalm 5 is a morning prayer that also speaks about deceit, enemies and guidance. The singer asks God to lead him in righteousness. Waiting expectantly is part of trust, not a method for making a request happen immediately.
