Bible verses for children
Ready to forgive.
Psalm 86:5

For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you.

In simple words
What does this verse mean?
The prayer describes God as good, ready to forgive and rich in loving kindness. Forgiveness opens a way back after wrongdoing. It is not permission to keep hurting people, and it does not remove the work of apologising or repairing what we can.
After admitting a mistake, you can ask for forgiveness and make a plan to change. A trusted adult can help you take responsibility without believing that one wrong action defines your whole life.

Bible context & readings +
Psalm 86:1–7 is an appeal for mercy from someone who needs help. Verse 5 gives a reason for approaching God confidently. It describes God’s character within prayer, rather than offering a formula that forces another person to forgive immediately.
