Bible verses for children
Shelter beneath wings.
Psalm 91:4

He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

In simple words
What does this verse mean?
A bird sheltering its young gives us a picture of care. A shield and a rampart, a protective wall, give another picture of safety. These are images of trusting God’s faithfulness, not a description of God having feathers or an instruction to ignore danger.
When you need protection, go to a safe adult and explain what is happening. You can pray while people help you make a sensible plan.

Bible context & readings +
Psalm 91 uses several images of refuge and protection. Read its poetry as an expression of trust, not permission to test danger or a guarantee that faithful people cannot be hurt. Practical precautions and seeking help belong alongside prayer.
