Bible verses for children

Faith spoken and held within.

Romans 10:9

Illustration of Jesus Is Alive: The Empty Tomb
that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Confessing Jesus as Lord means openly acknowledging him. Believing in the resurrection is central to that confession. Paul joins heart and mouth, rather than offering a magic phrase spoken without understanding.

Ask what a statement of faith means before simply repeating its words.

Talk about it

Bible context & readings +

Romans 10:8–13 describes the nearness of the message and the invitation to call on the Lord. Verse 9 belongs to that account of faith, not a method for pressuring a child into a hurried declaration.
