Meet Ananias in Acts 5.

A man in a difficult account about dishonesty.

Ananias in Acts 5: a quiet historically appropriate setting for A man in a difficult account about dishonesty, with simple understated contextual details; no invented dramatic event

Who was Ananias in Acts 5?

This Ananias was married to Sapphira. Acts describes them misleading the church about money from a sale. This is a difficult account involving their deaths, and it is different from the story of Ananias of Damascus.

Peter said the property and the money had been theirs to decide about. The problem was the deception, not a rule that everyone had to give all their money.
