Meet Sapphira.

A woman in the Acts 5 account.

Sapphira: a quiet historically appropriate setting for A woman in the Acts 5 account, with simple understated contextual details; no invented dramatic event

Who was Sapphira?

Sapphira was Ananias' wife in Acts 5. The account describes a shared deception about money and their deaths. It is a difficult passage that should never be used to threaten children into giving or obedience.

Peter questioned Sapphira about the sale, and the account presents her answer as part of the deception. The issue was dishonesty, not a command that everyone give every possession.

Sapphira answering Peter's question about the sale in a simple meeting room, serious conversation, no death or punishment.
