Who was Barak?
Barak was a military leader called by Deborah during Israel's oppression under Jabin. He asked Deborah to accompany him. The story presents her prophetic authority and their work together.
Deborah gave Barak a message and went with him when he asked. Seeking support is part of the account, but Deborah's role should not be reduced to simply cheering him on.
