Who was Darius in Daniel?
Darius is the ruler in Daniel's lions story. He appointed officials and was persuaded to issue a law restricting prayer. Identifying this ruler with other historical figures is debated.
Darius realised too late that his law had trapped Daniel. The story shows why rulers need to examine advice and consider whom a decision might harm.
