Named person · Old Testament

Meet Esau.

A brother's conflict and reconciliation.

Esau: a quiet historically appropriate setting for A brother's conflict and reconciliation, with simple understated contextual details; no invented dramatic event

Who was Esau?

Esau was the son of Isaac and Rebekah and Jacob's twin brother. He became a hunter, and his relationship with Jacob was damaged by family conflict and deception. Later Genesis describes their reunion.

When Jacob feared meeting him again, Esau ran to embrace him. This moment should be read alongside the earlier hurt rather than reducing Esau to one angry trait.
