Ethiopian official

A reader seeking to understand Scripture.

Ethiopian official: seated beside a chariot reading an open blank scroll, deep brown skin and dignified fine linen

Who was Ethiopian official?

Acts tells of an Ethiopian official who served the queen's treasury and travelled to Jerusalem to worship. He was reading Isaiah when Philip met him. His personal name is not given.

The official admitted that he needed help understanding what he read. Philip began with that passage and explained the good news about Jesus.
