Meet Ezra.

A scribe teaching the law.

Ezra: a quiet historically appropriate setting for A scribe teaching the law, with simple understated contextual details; no invented dramatic event

Who was Ezra?

Ezra was a priest and scribe who studied and taught God's law. He travelled to Jerusalem during the Persian period. His story belongs to the community rebuilding life after exile.

Ezra set his heart on studying, doing and teaching the law. Nehemiah also describes people receiving help to understand the reading, not merely hearing unfamiliar words.
