Who was Festus?
Porcius Festus succeeded Felix as Roman governor. He heard Paul's case and discussed it with King Agrippa. His part of Acts concerns accusations, hearings and Paul's appeal to Caesar.
Festus said he needed something clear to write about the charges against Paul. The scene helps us distinguish an accusation from a properly examined claim.
