Meet James son of Alphaeus.
One of the Twelve.

Who was James son of Alphaeus?
James son of Alphaeus was one of Jesus' twelve apostles. The Gospel lists identify him by his father to distinguish him from James son of Zebedee. They do not give a separate detailed biography.
His name appears among people called into a shared mission. We should not borrow the adventures of another James to fill the gaps in his story.
