Meet Jeshua the high priest.

A priest in the returned community.

Jeshua the high priest: a quiet historically appropriate setting for A priest in the returned community, with simple understated contextual details; no invented dramatic event

Who was Jeshua the high priest?

Jeshua, also called Joshua son of Jehozadak, was a priest in the community that returned from exile. He worked alongside Zerubbabel. He is not Joshua son of Nun, who led after Moses.

Jeshua and other priests helped rebuild the altar and restart worship. Their work belonged to a community recovering its shared life after displacement.
