Who was Joseph husband of Mary?
Joseph was Mary's husband and helped care for Jesus as he grew up. Matthew describes him responding to God's guidance in dreams. He is a different Joseph from Jacob's son in Genesis.
Joseph took Mary and the child Jesus to Egypt when Herod threatened the child's life. Later the family returned and settled in Nazareth.
