Angelic figure · New Testament

Meet Michael.

A named archangel in the biblical text.

Michael: standing calmly as a dignified protective angelic figure, no combat

Who is Michael?

Michael is an angelic figure named in Daniel, Jude and Revelation. Jude calls him an archangel. These passages give specific roles and scenes, but do not supply a detailed personal biography or an exact visual description.

Jude's account describes Michael refraining from making a reviling judgement on his own authority. The difficult scene needs careful reading rather than imaginative additions.

Michael as a calm dignified angel standing with open hand in restraint, simple clouds and light, no invented battle or depiction of Moses' body.
