Meet Zechariah father of John.

A priest receiving unexpected news.

Zechariah father of John: a quiet historically appropriate setting for A priest receiving unexpected news, with simple understated contextual details; no invented dramatic event

Who was Zechariah father of John?

Zechariah was a priest, Elizabeth's husband and John the Baptist's father. Luke describes Gabriel bringing him unexpected news. He is different from the Old Testament prophet Zechariah.

After John's birth, Zechariah wrote that the child's name was John. His later song praised God and spoke about the child's role in preparing the way.
