1 Kings 3:1–15; 2 Chronicles 1:1–13

Psalms 36:1–12

Psalm 50 is a poem in which God speaks with authority to the whole earth and then to his own people. Students will trace the speaker, the strong images, and the poem’s movement from God’s appearance to his searching words.
Psalms 51:1–19
Psalm 51 is a prayer asking God for mercy, cleansing and renewal. In this lesson, children will notice who is speaking, the strong pictures in the psalm, and how the prayer moves from sorrow over sin to praise.

Psalm 53 is a short poem that begins with people denying God and ends with a wish for God’s salvation. In this lesson, children trace the speaker, the images and the poem’s movement from grief to hope.
