Matthew 24:1–44; Mark 13:1–33; Luke 21:5–38
Jesus answers questions raised by the temple and its future. In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, he warns about deception, suffering, Jerusalem’s desolation, the coming of the Son of Man, and the need to remain watchful.
John 7:1–53
At the Feast of Booths, Jesus speaks in the temple and people argue about him. This chapter traces growing tension over his timing, his teaching, where he comes from, and whether people will judge him rightly.
John 8:1–11
In the temple, Jesus answered a test with truth, mercy, and a call to leave sin behind.
John 10:22–42
At the Festival of Dedication, people pressed Jesus to speak plainly about who he is. In this passage, Jesus points to his works, describes his sheep, and explains his relationship with the Father.
2 Timothy 1:1–2; 2 Timothy 1:3–12; 2 Timothy 1:13–18
These opening words begin the letter by showing how Paul identifies himself, who receives the letter, and how the greeting centres on God, Christ Jesus, and God’s promise of life. Even in two verses, the focus is clear and purposeful. This lesson also brings together Faithfulness under Persecution, Holding to Sound Teaching.
Revelation 1:1–3; Revelation 1:4–8; Revelation 1:9–20
These opening verses introduce Revelation as a message from God, centred on Jesus Christ and shown to John. They also tell readers how to approach the book: read it, hear it, and keep what is written. This lesson also brings together John Greets the Seven Churches, John’s Vision on Patmos.
Revelation 22:1–5; Revelation 22:6–17; Revelation 22:18–21
Revelation 22 closes with vivid picture language, direct warnings, and strong hope. This lesson helps older students notice who is being addressed, what the passage says about keeping its message, and how symbolic images work in this part of Scripture.
