Bible verses for children

Looking back on a faithful course.

2 Timothy 4:7

Children steadily running along a safe grassy course, a small bag of unnecessary heavy belongings left by the start, friends encouraging them
I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.

2 Timothy 4:7 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

Fighting a good fight and finishing a course are pictures of sustained faithfulness. The writer looks back on a demanding life. Faithfulness is not the same as never struggling or winning every conflict.

Think about a responsibility completed with help and what helped you stay with it.

Talk about it

What helps a person remain faithful through a long task?

Bible context & readings +

Second Timothy 4:6–8 reflects on approaching death through athletic and contest imagery. It is a personal testimony of perseverance, not an instruction for physical fighting or a promise of an easy finish.
