Bible verses for children

Human life is precious.

Exodus 20:13

Moses: holding two plain stone tablets beside a mountain, no written characters
“You shall not murder.

Exodus 20:13 · World English Bible Classic (WEB)

In simple words

What does this verse mean?

This command forbids murder: deliberately and wrongly taking a person’s life. It reminds us that people’s lives must be protected. An angry feeling or an accident is not the same thing as murder. When we are angry, we can still choose to get help and act safely.

If an argument becomes frightening, move to a safe place and get a grown-up. Protecting people is more important than winning the argument.

Talk about it

Who could help you if an argument stopped feeling safe?
