Bible verses for children
Be trustworthy with private words.
Proverbs 11:13

One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.

In simple words
What does this verse mean?
Gossip spreads another person’s private matters without care. A trustworthy friend does not repeat something simply because it will attract attention. But a secret about someone being hurt or unsafe needs to be shared with a trusted adult who can help.
If a friend shares an embarrassing but harmless worry, do not tell the class. If they reveal danger, explain that you need an adult’s help.

Proverbs 11:13 contrasts gossip with faithfulness in keeping confidence. It concerns responsible handling of information. It does not require secrecy when someone is at risk; seeking protection is different from spreading a story for entertainment.
