Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.

In simple words
What does this verse mean?
A wise person can become wiser by receiving teaching. Already knowing something does not mean we have finished learning. Being teachable includes listening to useful correction and changing our approach when there is a better way.
If someone shows you a safer or clearer way to do a task, try listening before saying you already know. Ask them to explain kindly.

Bible context & readings +
Proverbs 9 contrasts different responses to instruction. Verse 9 praises the learner who benefits from it. The point is openness to sound teaching, not accepting every criticism or believing that harsh treatment is necessary for learning.
