Bible verses for children
Grow like a well-watered tree.
Psalm 1:3

He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.

In simple words
What does this verse mean?
A tree beside water has what it needs to grow roots and bear fruit. This psalm compares that tree with a person who enjoys God’s teaching. Fruit is a picture of a life shaped by wise choices. Growth takes time, just as real fruit comes in its season.
Learning to tell the truth or take turns needs practice. One small choice may not seem impressive, but repeated choices can help a good habit grow.

Bible context & readings +
Psalm 1 contrasts delight in God’s instruction with following harmful advice. Its tree picture is wisdom poetry about a flourishing way of life. “Prosper” is not a promise that good people will always be rich, healthy or successful at everything they try.
