Who was Lazarus of Bethany?
Lazarus lived in Bethany and was the brother of Martha and Mary. John's Gospel describes Jesus caring for their family, grieving at Lazarus' death and calling him out of the tomb.
Before raising Lazarus, Jesus wept. The account makes room for grief and love, even within a story about the gift of life.
