Bible values for children
Notice. Care. Help.
Noticing when someone is hurting and caring.
Even when we cannot fix a problem, we can help someone feel less alone.

Put it into practice
What does compassion look like?
Compassion means noticing that someone is hurting and caring about how they feel. We can listen before deciding what help to offer. Even when we cannot fix a problem, we can help someone feel less alone.
If a friend is crying, sit nearby and ask whether they would like company. Get an adult if they are hurt or need more help.
Talk about it
How could you show someone that you are listening?

Good SamaritanVerses to remember
Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.
A little context
Colossians 3:12–14 describes the care Christians should show one another because they are loved by God. The picture of putting on compassion is about how we live, not what we wear.
