Job 31:1–40
Job 31: Comparing the Voices in the Debate
Job makes a final appeal about his conduct through repeated conditional oaths. He denies specific wrongs, invokes severe consequences if guilty and calls on the Almighty to answer. These are his self-imprecations, including a harmful consequence involving his wife, rather than a narrator approval of every proposed penalty.
