Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Luke 10:25–37
Jesus tells of an injured traveller ignored by two passers-by. A Samaritan stops, tends his wounds, brings him to an inn and pays for his care; Jesus tells his listener to show that same mercy.
Main takeaway: Being a neighbour means showing practical mercy.
While you colour the bookmarks
Follow the scenes: A man is attacked; Religious leaders walk past; The Samaritan helps the man; Jesus teaches: “Love your neighbor”.
Use the separate bookmark pictures to retell the account and connect each one with the moment it represents.
Compare passing by with stopping, bandaging, carrying and paying. Ask which actions required time, attention or resources.
Younger learners can arrange the scenes with an adult. Older learners can choose a bookmark, locate the corresponding passage and explain its place in the wider story.
Questions to explore
- Who stopped to help?
- What did caring for the traveller involve?
- What is a safe, practical way we could help a neighbour?
