Bible values for children

Care when someone needs it most.

Showing compassion when someone is hurting or has done wrong.

Mercy does not mean pretending that harm is acceptable.

David letting King Saul leave safely at a cave entrance, figures separated peacefully, no threatening weapons

Put it into practice

What does mercy look like?

Mercy means responding with compassion when someone is hurting or has done wrong. We can help someone in need or choose not to be cruel after a mistake. Mercy does not mean pretending that harm is acceptable.

If someone breaks a game piece by accident, you can help them tell an adult and repair it instead of mocking them.

Talk about it

How could you show care while still saying that something was wrong?
