Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Suggested Bible reading: Psalm 119:9–16; Colossians 3:12–17
This set collects verses for reading and encouragement rather than telling one continuous story. Understanding a short quotation is helped by reading its surrounding passage and considering the person it addresses.
Main takeaway: Remembering a verse is most useful when we also understand its meaning.
As you read a card
Choose a card for careful reading rather than trying to memorise the whole set at once.
Choose one card or design, find its printed reference in a Bible and read the paragraph around it. Use a short phrase to explain one idea in your own words before trying to memorise it.
An adult can read and discuss one phrase with a younger learner. Older readers can check the context and choose a suitable card for encouragement without assuming every promise addresses every situation identically.
Questions to explore
- Who is speaking or being addressed?
- What does the surrounding passage add?
- How could this particular verse guide or encourage someone today?
