Jonah and the Big Fish
An unexpected journey and a second chance.
God told Jonah to go to Nineveh. Jonah sailed the other way instead!
A great storm came. Jonah was thrown into the sea, and God provided a great fish to swallow him.
Inside the fish, Jonah prayed. After three days and nights, the fish put him onto dry land.
God spoke to Jonah again. This time Jonah went to Nineveh and shared God’s message.
The people of Nineveh believed God’s message. They fasted, and the king called on everyone to turn from their evil ways and violence. God saw that they had changed their ways. He showed mercy and did not bring the disaster he had said would come upon them.
