Getting ready
Age & adult help
Following several illustrated panels and reading speech or story text adds a literacy demand to the colouring.
Read panels aloud and help children follow their order. Check the story and wording before using it with younger children.
What you’ll need
Printer, paper, colouring pencils or crayons. An adult reader may be helpful for younger children.
Time & preparation
One comic page, including colouring. Shared reading and discussion are additional.
Age is an editorial estimate for the motor and reading demands of this format. Difficulty, completion time and suggested tools are planning estimates, not build-tested.
Check the file before you print for a group, and allow for any extra help the kids might need.
Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Luke 10:25–37; Ephesians 4:32
Jesus’ Samaritan story gives kindness a practical form: noticing, stopping and caring for someone hurt. Other New Testament teaching calls believers to kindness and compassion towards one another.
Main takeaway: Kindness becomes meaningful through actions that meet a real need.
While you colour the panels
Read the panels in order, pausing at a change in a character’s action or understanding.
Choose one action on the printable and make it specific: who could be helped, what is needed and how to do it safely.
Younger learners can describe an action in one panel. Older learners can compare a caption with its Bible passage and discuss what a short comic leaves out.
Questions to explore
- What need could we notice?
- What would helpful kindness look like here?
- How can we check that the help is welcome?
Common questions
What files are included in this download?
The download is a 1-page PDF: ActsofKindness_BookofActstheme.pdf. This is the English edition. You print the files yourself; physical supplies are not included.
Is this a comic to read or a colouring sheet?
It combines both on one page: outlined comic panels with story captions. Read the panels in sequence, then colour and talk about the illustrated moments. It is a flat printable, with no paper mechanism to assemble. Printed captions include “They performed miracles and showed kindness, spreading joy and hope” and “The early Christians shared everything and helped those in need”.
Which pages should I print, and at what size?
The original PDF pages are A4 portrait. ActsofKindness_BookofActstheme.pdf: print the page for each learner or group. Print single-sided. On US Letter paper, select Letter and Fit or shrink to the printable area; the originals are not separate Letter-sized files.
