Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Ephesians 6:10–18
Paul uses a soldier’s equipment as a picture of truth, righteousness, readiness for the gospel of peace, faith, salvation and God’s word. He finishes by calling believers to keep praying.
Main takeaway: The armour image is about faithful, peaceful living, not fighting other people.
As you unroll the passage
Read the scroll a section at a time and explain the words before rolling it up again.
Match each piece with the quality Paul names. Turn truth, peace and faith into everyday examples rather than pretending classmates are enemies.
Younger learners can listen and repeat a short meaningful phrase. Older learners can explain the reading in their own words before practising recall.
Questions to explore
- Which piece is connected with truth?
- What does Paul say about peace?
- How could telling the truth or making peace help in a disagreement?
Common questions
What files are included in this download?
The download is a 1-page PDF: TheArmorofGod.pdf. This is the English edition. You print the files yourself; physical supplies are not included.
How do I turn the sheet into a scroll?
Colour the illustrated page and roll its two side edges towards the centre. For a sturdier classroom version, attach the side edges to two paper straws or wooden craft sticks and roll them inwards. Unroll the page gradually as you retell or read it. For a Bible reading to accompany this activity, use Ephesians 6:10–18.
Which pages should I print, and at what size?
The original PDF pages are A4 landscape. TheArmorofGod.pdf: print the page for each learner or group. Print single-sided. On US Letter paper, select Letter and Fit or shrink to the printable area; the originals are not separate Letter-sized files.
What supplies and preparation does this need?
Paper and colouring pencils. Paper straws or craft sticks with glue or tape are an optional support, not included physical supplies. An adult can prepare the handles.
What help might children need with this activity?
Suggested ages: 6–10 years. Help attach the handles and roll the edges neatly. Read the story text together. Adjust this guide for the child’s reading and making skills.
