Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Genesis 12:1–9; 15:1–6; 21:1–7
God calls Abram to leave home and promises to bless him and his family. The promise unfolds over many years, including the birth of Isaac after a long wait.
Main takeaway: God’s promise gives Abraham a reason to trust through a long journey.
As you turn the wheel
Turn slowly and use each revealed section as a pause in the retelling.
Separate leaving home, the promise under the stars and Isaac’s birth. Talk about waiting without suggesting every wish is a promise from God.
Younger learners can predict the next pictured event. Older learners can explain a character’s decision at the point where it appears.
Questions to explore
- What did Abram leave behind?
- What did the stars help him picture?
- How is a promise different from something we simply hope for?
