Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Mark 10:13–16
People bring children to Jesus, but the disciples try to stop them. Jesus objects, welcomes the children and blesses them, making their place with him clear.
Main takeaway: Children are welcome and valued by Jesus.
While you colour the panels
Read the panels in order, pausing at a change in a character’s action or understanding.
Compare the disciples’ blocking action with Jesus’ welcome. Invite children to suggest how a group can make room for someone new.
Younger learners can describe an action in one panel. Older learners can compare a caption with its Bible passage and discuss what a short comic leaves out.
Questions to explore
- Who tried to stop the children?
- How did Jesus respond?
- What could help a newcomer feel welcome in our group?
